This one's for you Mr. McClure! As a follow up to Matthew's post where he sought constructive criticism from the group here…I would challenge you all to talk directly to the person you feel needs criticism. Ideally, if you love and value yourself and the other person in need of criticism, you should do it within 24 hours of your suffering through whatever they did to concern or frustrate you. I saw this quote from the Dalai Lama this morning that I believe gets to the heart of our collective idea of raising the bar:
“The very purpose of spirituality is self-discipline. Rather than criticizing others, we should evaluate and criticize ourselves. Ask yourself, what am I doing about my anger, my attachment, my pride, my jealousy? These are the things we should check in our day to day lives.”
For me this means raise the bar of yourself by finding love, compassion and patience (read: inner peace) and the sky will not be falling what your favorite blogger tells you it is. You complain about a person, product or service to someone who can actually help you, as opposed to launching negativity into the ether. Building a fan base and/or friends built on anger and negativity is not sustainable.
This is a practice. Being mindful of what we think, say and do is raising the bar and starts from within. So I challenge you to trust yourself, share love in response to anger, fear, hate etc.. Face your anger, you are suffering, I am suffering, but I’m doing my best and need your help!
Greg, Nobu, thanks for sending the bat-signal! Hi Maggie, Audie from Realtor.com here. I’m sorry that your profile wasn’t appearing in the best way to get clients to see it. I would recommend logging in to your control panel to change the name Maggie Homes to Maggie Dokic, http://www.realtor.com/realestateagents/Maggie-Homes_Miami_FL_443650_775579227. If you need assistance please call/text me on my cell 310-562-5114 and I’ll do my best to walk you through it. Otherwise your profile looks great. It’s optimized for mobile and social, your recommendations and badges look great. When I logged in to look at your profile on my iPhone I could instantly see that we have 34 mutual LinkedIn connections, 24 on Twitter and 30 on Facebook. Nice to know we are that connected and if I was a consumer, I would definitely be reaching out to some of those mutual Facebook friends right now to find out who has had experience working with you in the past.Clearly not meant for RTB... If it was, it would have said "Don't mean to spam the group here, but here's: "my thoughts/post/link/fill in the blank..." spam ;)
